What’s included in a typical installation?

Every home is different, so we start with a base price for a charger installation that meets the following standard conditions:

•The charger and your electricity meter are separated by no more than two walls.

•A maximum of 10 metres of cabling is needed to connect them.

•Cables are run straight through walls and are surface-mounted up to 1.8m high.

•Your electricity meter is located indoors, or there’s a suitable indoor location for necessary protective equipment.

•Your Wi-Fi signal is strong enough at the installation point.

•You have a single-phase electrical supply

•The charger will be installed on a plaster or brick wall, and you have private off-street parking.

•The installation is expected to take no more than four hours.

Please note: Sometimes your electricity provider or network operator may need to carry out extra work. This is usually free.

Are there any grants available to reduce costs?

Can I charge my EV using a standard plug socket?

Technically yes, but it’s not ideal. Standard sockets charge your car much more slowly than a dedicated EV charger and may not be as safe. Purpose-built chargers are weather-resistant and designed specifically for EV use—so you can charge confidently even in the rain.
